Chance encounter

I looked him in the eyes as he stared at me

Way down, across from me above the river
I could tell he was afraid
As the cold dark wind made me shiver

We both stood there on our own mirrorway railing
As we thought the thoughts we thought
And our minds were making our lifes excruciating
And we both knew we had given up

So I stared at him and he stared at me
And we almost nodded to each other
As if to say it were okay
And we can let go of our cover

So we both stepped on and let life go
And in this amazing fall
We both felt connected more than we ever had
With anyone at all

As the cold aegean water devoured me
I felt a sense of peace
Just knowing that my deathly friend
Was able to complete his life with me
